Housing Challenges? Take Nevada County's Housing Survey

Better Together

Nevada City, Calif. (January 31, 2024) – Have you experienced housing challenges in Nevada County?  Residents, employees, and employers are encouraged to complete an online housing needs survey. Results will assist Nevada County in developing strategies to address housing needs in our community.

Housing is a top concern, and we want to do everything we can to help solve this issue,” said Supervisor Hardy Bullock, Board chair.  “The community’s participation in this survey will help us decide where best to spend our energy to develop solutions.”

The survey will be open through Feb. 22, and will take about 10 minutes to complete in either English or Spanish. Results are collected confidentially and anonymously. The survey can be found at:

People who live or work in Nevada County or employers in Nevada County are encouraged to take the survey. Participants will be asked about the housing challenges that affect them or their employees most and which solutions would be most helpful. Survey questions include:

  •  Did you experience any problems when searching for and securing your current housing situation?
  • What kind of housing would you be interested in purchasing or renting (single-family house, apartment, mobile home, etc.)?
  • What types of housing assistance, if available, would you be interested in (down payment assistance, first month’s rent or security deposit, home buyer education, tenant legal assistance, etc.)?

The results will inform how the County responds to the region’s workforce housing needs, including homelessness prevention, through policy and programs, and can be accessed once available at
