Nevada County property owners knew there were complicated issues involved with cleaning up their property. With the guidance of Nevada County Code Compliance staff, the property owners better understood the unique challenges they faced and were connected to resources that assisted them in carrying out this large-scale cleanup project.
While it took many years, clear information, and recommendations from Code Compliance staff, an improvement plan was created. The plan included local experts to work the property. In a herculean effort, it took 53.5 hours of labor and an additional 81 hours logged by an excavator and operator. All in all, the debris removed from this property included:
- 500 tires (approximately)
- 23 33-yard dumpsters of scrap metal (22 feet long, 7.5 feet wide, and 6 feet high)
- 3 33-yard dumpsters of trash (22 feet long, 7.5 feet wide, and 6 feet high)
- 15 cars, trucks, vehicles, and trailers – 1 boat included.
This effort transformed their property and further reduced fire, life, health, and safety risks to the public and environment. Nevada County Code Compliance is grateful to these property owners for reaching out for help and advice.
