Code Officer Appreciation Week in Nevada County

This week, October 3rd through the 9th, 2021, people across California are joining together to recognize code professionals and their vital role in promoting the health and safety of the public and environment.  These professionals work tirelessly in the community to ensure property owners are abiding by County, State, and Federal laws and regulations.

In 2020, Nevada County Code and Cannabis staff investigated approximately 408 new complaints regarding various violations of County, State, and Federal laws and regulations.  Often, code professionals fill multiple roles in the course of their casework and can be found frequently collaborating with local and state health departments, environmental departments, and law enforcement agencies.

September 28, 2021, the Nevada County Board of Supervisors honored Code and Cannabis Compliance Officers. Hardy Bullock, District 5 Supervisor, said, "I want to pass along a couple of accolades I have had from my interactions with people in the cannabis and building industry for the high level of professionalism you bring to the job; being responsive, innovative, and timely. Thank you so much for the work you do every day to make Nevada County a great place to live and a great place to have a business." Sue Hoek, District 5 Supervisor, added, "You guys are outstanding. I appreciate the amount of time you spent with me, educating me. Our ride-alongs that I have been on, they always very, very informative. I get a lot of people that really appreciate and reach out and say what a great job you guys do.

Members of our community are encouraged to join together during Code Compliance Appreciation Week to honor those who work to make our communities a safer place to live and recreate. View the Code Compliance Officer Appreciation Week Nevada County Board of Supervisor’s item on our YouTube Channel.
