Nevada County District I Supervisor Heidi Hall was appointed to sit on the National Association of Counties (NACo) Public Lands Policy Steering Committee for 2021-2022.
Supervisor Hall was appointed to the Public Lands Policy Steering Committee by the California State Association of Counties (CSAC), whom she serves as the representative for Nevada County and as the Co-Chair of the CSAC Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources Policy Committee and member of the CSAC Broadband Workgroup. Supervisor Hall will serve alongside eight other county supervisors representing California that include Del Norte, Modoc, Inyo, Mariposa, and Mono counties. The core philosophy of the committee is based on the critical role that counties play in policy development, planning, and management of federal lands and serve as conveners by offering a local and detailed level of expertise on resource management issues.
Supervisor Hall’s appointment comes on the heels of requesting the Board of Supervisors submit a Letter of Advocacy urging for the increase of Law Enforcement Officer staffing and resources for efforts of public safety on Federal public lands within the United States Forest Service Region 5, Tahoe National Forest, and Bureau of Land Management Mother Lode Field Office. The Board unanimously approved t the letter on August 10, 2021.
