Hirschdale Community Meeting & Listening Session

Hirschdale Community Meeting - 9.23.2021

Nevada County District V Supervisor Hardy Bullock is hosting an informal community meeting on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 5:30 pm to meet and listen to a diverse group of community stakeholders. Topics to be discussed will be related to public and private property rights, river access, crime, roadway and trail use, visitor impacts, signs, parking, infrastructure and recreational amenities. In recognizing the various set of stakeholders and interest at play within the community, Supervisor Bullock is holding this meeting as an opportunity for members of the public to both vocalize and listen to one another while adhering to a firm order and decorum expectation.

The meeting will be kicked off by Supervisor Bullock outlining the purpose and expectations of the meeting. Key stakeholders will have an opportunity to listen and discuss the challenges and potential opportunities that may be available to the community.  Participants include representative's from the Nevada County Sheriff's Office, Nevada County Community Development Agency (CDA), United States Forest Service (USFS), Truckee Fire Protection District (TFPD), Nevada County Code Enforcement, Nevada County Public Works, California Fish and Wildlife, and community members.

As Supervisor Bullock explained, "We are not going to solve the issues here - and that is not the goal of this specific meeting.  But what we can do is provide a platform to allow everyone to get on the same page by presenting what's on the table for them. What's their issue, what's their concern.  But we can only do that when we agree to respectfully listen to one another - for that,  I have no doubt this community can do that."

The event will be held in-person at the Tahoe Forest Church located at 10315 Hirschdale Road, Truckee, CA 96161 from 5:30 to 7:30. For more information, please contact Supervisor Bullock at 530-265-1480 or by emailing him at For more information, please feel free to contact staff at
