NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOP
Notice is hereby given that the County of Nevada will conduct a public workshop per Elections Code Section 21607.1 on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., at which the public will: 1) receive a report from staff on the redistricting process and permissible criteria to be considered to redraw Board of Supervisors election district boundaries; and 2) conduct a public workshop to receive public input on communities of interest and potential district boundaries.
Pursuant to Governor Gavin Newsom's Executive Order pertaining to the convening of public meetings in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the County of Nevada will hold this public meeting from inside the Board Chambers, located at the Eric Rood Administrative Center, 950 Maidu Avenue, First Floor, Nevada City, CA 95959. The meeting room is accessible to people with disabilities. Anyone requiring reasonable accommodation to participate in the workshop should contact the Clerk of the Board’s office by calling (530) 265-1480 at least four days prior to the meeting. All interested persons are invited to attend said workshop and express opinions relating to this matter. Members of the public who are unable to attend the workshop in person or view the workshop on television or through the web may call 1 (415) 655-0001 to listen to the workshop live. You will need a Meeting ID# and Password#, which will be available on the agenda following posting on July 26. Members of the public who are unable to attend the workshop in person but wish to comment may call (530) 270-3474 to be placed in a call-in queue until permitted into the workshop to provide comments. Please refer to the front page of the agenda after posting for additional ways to provide public comment.
The public workshop will also be broadcast live on Nevada County Media Channel 17 in western County and on Suddenlink Channel 78 in eastern County and can be viewed live through the web at www.mynevadacounty.com/boardmeetings. Closed Captioning is available for hearing-impaired viewers.
