[ARCHIVED] Nevada County Intern Spotlight: Cristian Nuno

Intern Spotlight: Cristian Nuno

The Human Resources Office administers a vibrant, made-to-order internship program designed to provide learning and experience opportunities for individuals in the community, high school and college students, and members of the military community. We solicit departmental needs and create unique internship opportunities covering a wide range of fields and interests. We encourage citizens to reach out to us to inform us of their areas of interest, and we attempt to match them to an internship opportunity.  We strive to reach and teach!  We attempt to ignite interest in public sector careers by providing meaningful internship experiences.

Cristian recently graduated in May 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from California State University Sacramento and was part of the PRSSA organization. While part of PRSSA Cristian took part in the Events and Fundraising committee as well as the digital committee. Cristian is a highly creative and deadline–oriented individual who has been working with a team of communications experts at Nevada County.

Cristian has been working as a Public Communications Intern in the County Executive Office since May 11, 2020 under the direction of County Public Information Officer Taylor Wolfe. By leveraging his skillset, he has performed duties ranging from social media to creating graphics for various topics including COVID and wildfires. Cristian continuously creates the weekly County newsletter, Nevada County News. The newsletter reaches approximately 1,500 subscribers and goes out every Friday at 2:00 p.m.
