Our pick for May is 2019’s The Farewell, a touching and funny drama about a Chinese American family that decides not to tell their grandmother that she’s been given only a few months to live. Inspired by director Lulu Wang’s own experience, it’s a beautiful film about being caught between two cultures and the power of family. 

 
 

Runtime is 1 hour, 40 minutes. Rated PG for thematic material, brief language and some smoking.
