Adult Literacy and ESL
The Nevada County Library Adult Literacy program aims to help adults build their reading, writing and math skills through free, confidential, one-on-one tutoring. The program supports adult learners who want to achieve goals that may include English as a Second Language (ESL), voting for the first time, reading aloud to their children, or finding employment. Our trained volunteer tutors provide one-on-one tutoring through Adult Literacy services, English listening and speaking through ESL services, and family programs through our Family Literacy services.
With over 30 million adults nationwide struggling with everyday basic life tasks, the Adult Literacy Program at Nevada County Library makes it easy and comfortable to get help.
