The mission of the Friends of the Nevada County Libraries, a non-profit organization, is to focus community attention on the continuing value of, and necessity for, a public library system as a cultural, educational, and recreational asset.
Established in 1971, the Friends is an independent organization that supports the Truckee Library.
The Nevada County Library Foundation was established in 1997 to provide private support for the county libraries
