The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) CARES ACT Subsistence Program for Rental, Mortgage, and Utility Assistance

Nevada County's Health and Human Services Agency Division of Housing and Community Services now has funding to provide rental, mortgage, and utility relief  to those financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with household income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income.  The program provides residents meeting the eligibility requirements with  a maximum of $2,000 per month for up to  3 months  with the goal of preventing eviction and creating housing stability. 

What You Need to Know:

The Nevada County Rental Assistance Program provides financial assistance in the form of direct payments to landlords, lenders, or utility providers. This program is specifically designed to aid COVID-19 affected households at or below 80%  of the Area Median Income (AMI) as adjusted for household size. Please see the chart below for income limits for this program and to see if you might be eligible.

How to Apply: 

 Applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis with priority given to those that are at-risk of homelessness.  Applications may be submitted electronically using the link below or submitted in person at 950 Maidu Avenue.

What Happens Next:

Applications will be processed and applicants selected for the program will be contacted to provide any additional information necessary. If awarded rental,  mortgage, or utility assistance, payments will be made directly to the landlord, lender, or utility provider.
