Critical Incident Negotiations Team (CINT)

The Nevada County Sheriff Critical Incident Negotiations Team (CINT)  is a specially trained unit of skilled hostage / crisis negotiators. Each member attends a 40 hour hostage negotiation school, in addition to hands on training in the field. This is a team that is capable of responding and diffusing highly volatile situation. These situations may include barricaded subjects, hostage situations and persons who are in crisis and suicidal.


Using a combination of special tactics and negotiation techniques the goal of the CINT is to resolve a situation with the hostages rescued safely, to keep law enforcement personnel uninjured and to take the suspect or suspects safely into custody.
