Meet the Assessor

Nevada County has been home to Sue and her family since 1980. Sue has over two decades of experience in the public sector. She worked under two State Assemblymen and served 8 years as Nevada County's District 2 Supervisor, representing the South County from 2001-2008.  Sue was elected as our County Assessor in June 2010 and took office in January 2011. She is a Board of Equalization Certified Advanced Property Tax Appraiser and is currently in her 8th year of service.  She currently serves as Vice President of the Northern California Assessors Association. Sue and her husband, Bruce, have been married 43 years, live in Alta Sierra and have three grown children. In her "other" life, Sue loves to travel, hike the Sierra, mountain bike, enjoy family and friends and be a doting grandma to her four grandchildren.
