Purpose

The Agricultural Advisory Commission (AAC) was formed in 1990. Their purpose is to advise and make recommendations to the Nevada County Board of Supervisors, and other county boards, commissions, and departments, on issues affecting, or of interest to the agricultural industry. The AAC develops a framework for cooperation among agencies, interest groups, and public and private property owners for wise conservation and management of resources to benefit the County’s agricultural assets.

The Agricultural Advisory Commission shall consist of nine members appointed by the Board of Supervisors and serve four-year terms and until the appointment and qualification of their successor. Commissioners serve at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors. Any vacancy created during a term shall be filled by the Board of Supervisors for the remainder of the unexpired term.
