2020 Census
Once each decade, the U.S. Census Bureau attempts to count every person in the United States. The next enumeration will begin in Spring 2020. There’s a lot at stake in the 2020 Census and our community can’t afford an undercount. Essential services throughout Nevada County rely on federal funding that is based on the information collected during the Census. More than just counting people, the Census has repercussions that last a decade. Census data determines the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives and the distribution of more than $675 billion dollars in federal funds to support vital programs for housing, education, transportation, employment, and health care.
